CHOCOLATE CHERRY BARS
BARS:

1 8 ounce package Philadelphia cream cheese -- softened
3/4 cup  butter or margarine -- softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1 ounce squares baker's unsweetened baking chocolate -- melted
1 cup chopped maraschino cherries -- well drained
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
        
GLAZE:
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
3 tablespoons  milk
2 1 ounce squares  baker's unsweetened baking chocolate -- melted
1/2 teaspoon  vanilla

Bars: MIX cream cheese, butter and sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla; mix until blended. MIX flour, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture to cream cheese mixture; mix well. Blend in melted chocolate. Stir in cherries and walnuts. Spread into greased and floured 15 x 10X 1-inch baking pan. BAKE at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Glaze: MIX powdered sugar, milk, melted chocolate and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm bars in baking pan; cut into bars. Makes 2 dozen Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 146 Calories; 8g Fat (46.7% calories from fat); 2g Protein; 18g Carbohydrate; trace Dietary Fiber; 31mg Cholesterol; 135mg Sodium. Exchanges: 1/2 Grain(Starch); 0 Lean Meat; 0 Non-Fat Milk; 1 1/2 Fat; 1 Other Carbohydrates.
